Yummy Homemade Treats

Today I finally got around to making chocolate covered pretzels with the girls.  I had planned on doing it for Father’s Day while my husband was away but things didn’t work out.   I was melting the chocolate in the microwave and burned it.  It smelled the whole house up and looked gross.  Needless to say, it wasn’t part of my husband’s gift from the girls.

So tonight after dinner we all made them together.  It was fun and really was simple as long as you don’t over cook the chocolate.  Here’s what you do.

  • buy white chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave.  We used about a cup of chips and heated them for a minute.
  • dip the pretzels of any shape in the chocolate.  My girls don’t like to get messy so the pretzel sticks were best for them to use.
  • then roll the dipped pretzels in different colored sprinkles.
  • place them on wax paper and let them set for about 30 minutes.

We had fun making them and now they have a homemade snack for tomorrow.

Yum! Cute picture, too! Emily’s hair is turning blonde! :) Glad you survived while Chris was gone. Now you can pretend to be asleep again at night. That doesn’t work with my husband. He doesn’t hear Parker during the night…or maybe HE’S pretending…mmm..no, don’t think so! :)

Thanks Erin. I love staying at home and being a teacher to my girls. I sometimes have to control my impulses to turn their rooms into a classroom.
