Tempt My Tummy Tuesday- Puppy Chow

tempt.jpgI don’t cook or bake so I’m really proud of myself that this is my second Tempt My Tummy Tuesday post.  My first one wasn’t actually a recipe but a resource of where you could find lots of recipes depending on what you are craving.  So I’m not sure if that really counts so I’m trying it again!  This recipe is for a snack called Puppy Chow.  I haven’t made it yet but I have tasted it and it was delicious so I wanted to share.  Enjoy!

  • 1/2 cup Margarine
  • 12 oz. pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 12 oz. box of Crispex cereal
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

In a large bowl microwave the margarine.  Add Choc. chips and peanut butter and heat until melted.  Stir until it is a creamy blend.  Then stir in the cereal until it is coated.  Place cereal and powder sugar in large plastic bag.  Shake until cereal is coated with the powdered sugar.

I make these all of the time. I have been known to make a small batch for myself for dinner! LOL!

I don’t use the butter. It’s not needed at all. Just melt some chocolate chips (I like to use milk chocolate), then add PB and melt a bit longer. Add some vanilla and then corn chex and stir in powdered sugar until it’s covered. YUMMY! Tastes great with a huge cup of milk.

So yummy! We make this, too, but it’s been a while so thanks for the reminder. We like to eat it out of little dog bowls…new ones that have been washed, of course! And, of course we yelp and bark like doggies while we eat it. Classy, I know… ;)
