It’s Friday, which means that over at An Island Life it’s time for Aloha Friday. I can’t believe February is a couple days away which means Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it. My husband and I have a tradition that every Valentine’s Day we go out to dinner. Most couples probably do that, but we go to McDonald’s. I have a thing for McDonald’s french fries. It’s the perfect place to go because it’s usually empty, so we get a nice romantic booth, and I get to order whatever I want without worrying about how much it will cost! My husband even makes a point of loudly proclaiming “Honey, You can order whatever you’d like!”
So my question for you is…
Do you and your husband/significant other have a Valentine’s tradition?

It’s still a new tradition, but each year on valentine’s day, I bake rose shaped cupcakes for my husband. I make a joke out of it, that I am getting him flowers that he can eat. In truth, I believe that the fact that theya re rose shaped is more for my sake than for his… but he loves the fact that he gets homemade cupcakes!

January 29th, 2010 at 8:59 amYeah we hope that we remember to get each other valentines day cards.
January 29th, 2010 at 10:42 amNo we do not. We never have seen a need to express our love more or less on one day more than any other.

Not really but there usually is chocolate involved.
January 29th, 2010 at 2:23 pmyes… since Bradley was born we’ve made it a point to do a mommy/son date night on valentine’s day. After all, it’s my job to show him how a lady should act on a date and how he should treat a lady.
Now that we have a son and a daughter it is even more perfect
Every year, Mat takes Anna out (and spoils her rotten) and I take Bradley out. We all go to a dollar store and secretly buy gifts for each other than exchange them at whatever place we choose to eat. Of course bradley and anna make sure not to choose the same place as each other so they can have one on one time with mommy and daddy
It is so much fun and the kids really look forward to it.
January 29th, 2010 at 5:37 pmMat and I always have a romantic dinner night on the 15th because that is our engagement anniversary and the restaurants are EMPTY.
I always get flowers and he always gets chocolate.
January 29th, 2010 at 5:47 pmWe exchange cards and sometimes do a dinner out on a different night (not during the hoopla and extra expensive menus).
January 29th, 2010 at 6:30 pmNo, we usually don’t do anything special.
January 29th, 2010 at 11:28 pmwe usually get a card and go out to dinner!!
