My girls have had a great summer so far and have been wonderful. They enjoy playing with one another and will disappear into their room for hours pretending to be princesses, teachers, or the girls from the Fresh Beat Band show. But there are times when they get tired of that and need to be entertained. It has been hard because we just had a baby 2 weeks ago and I had a c-section. So entertaining two kids while trying to take care of myself and a newborn is hard to do.
I came up with 20 ideas of fun things to do and wrote them on little slips of paper. When they get bored or are wanting something else to do I have them pick a paper from the Idea Jar. Some of the ideas I put in are : do a puzzle, play with play doh, build something using all the blocks, write a letter or draw a picture for someone, make a necklace or bracelet for a friend, call Grandma on the phone, play a game with your sister, paint a picture, etc.
They love closing their eyes and choosing an activity. If they don’t like the first one I let them draw one more. This way they have two to choose from.

This is a great idea! I have four girls aged 5 and under, so I know what it’s like to try to keep the older ones occupied!
