I found these cute mittens ( I forget where I saw them) with adjectives and nouns on them and decided to use them for teaching similes instead of just making up sentences. We talked about what similes were and I gave them some examples. Then I laid all the mittens out and had them choose 6 to make up 3 sentences. They had so much fun! My favorite was Emily’s second one.
