A couple of weeks ago we did our plant unit. Since we did the ole lima bean experiment, I decided to read the story A Bad Case of Stripes and do a cause and effect lesson I saw here. If you’ve never read the book it’s about a little girl who loves lima beans but refuses to eat them because she is afraid of what her friends will think.
After a couple of days of practice with cause and effect (Amelia Bedelia books are great for this) I read the book. As I did we made a chart of all the causes and effects we heard in the story. Then I had my 2nd grader write a summary using the cause and effects. She did a great job!!
