It’s Friday, so that means that over at An Island Life it is time for Aloha Friday.
In our family, we love to play games; board games, sports, games on the wii, etc. My husband and I are very competitive. Last weekend I found out just how competitive my oldest daughter is. We were at a bowling birthday party and all the other little 6 year olds had grown tired of bowling and were sitting at the table about to eat pizza and cake. Ashlyn however, was bound and determined to finish her game along with everyone else’s.
We love her competitive spirit and the fact we can play so many things with her. But here is my question.
Do you let your kids win when you play a game with them? Why or why not.
It’s Friday, which means that over at An Island Life it’s time for Aloha Friday. As I sit here typing this post our neighbors’ dog is barking/yelping once again. It has gotten so bad that I actually sent my husband next door one day when I was tutoring to ask them to keep it quiet. Before they had a dog, they came over to let us know that they bought a dog shock collar for our dog because the barking “bothered his wife.” What’s even funnier is the fact that our dog hardly ever barked and when it did we brought it inside immediately. We get along great with our neighbors and have never really brought it up. So, my question is…
Have you ever experienced anything like this? What would you do if you were in my situation?
It’s Friday, which means that over at An Island Life it’s time for Aloha Friday. I am 23 weeks pregnant (with my third) and have started to really show the last couple of weeks. I was finishing up my day with my class of 3 and 4 year olds when one of my students’ moms came into the class to pick up her child. As he was leaving he turned to me and said, “You know Mrs. Storms, you used to be skinny.” I thought it was hilarious and started to laugh but his mom turned red and got embarrassed. I love the honesty of kids!
It got me thinking about all the comments people make when you are pregnant. For some reason, they think that because you are having a baby they can say whatever they want to you. So my question is…
Do you have any funny (or not so funny) comments people have said to you while you were pregnant?
It’s Friday, which means that over at An Island Life it’s time for Aloha Friday. I don’t know about you but our family has had so much fun watching the Olympics. Our girls have loved watching the ice skating and seeing all the snow (we live on Florida). So my question for you is…
What has been your favorite Olympic event to watch?
It’s Friday, which means that over at An Island Life it’s time for Aloha Friday. I can’t believe February is a couple days away which means Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it. My husband and I have a tradition that every Valentine’s Day we go out to dinner. Most couples probably do that, but we go to McDonald’s. I have a thing for McDonald’s french fries. It’s the perfect place to go because it’s usually empty, so we get a nice romantic booth, and I get to order whatever I want without worrying about how much it will cost! My husband even makes a point of loudly proclaiming “Honey, You can order whatever you’d like!”
So my question for you is…
Do you and your husband/significant other have a Valentine’s tradition?
