 Here is the best free site ever (in my humble opinion) for teaching kids letters, letter sounds, and beginning reading skills. 

This past week I was trying to catch up on some laundry when my 2 year old starts to take her pooping position. She has been refusing to tell me when she has to go now for about 3 months which has been so much fun!  I rushed her to the bathroom where of course she started to yell, “I not have to go poo poo.”  As I made her sit there Ashlyn came in and asked if she wanted her to read to her.  I left and Ashlyn took over.  I heard her telling Emily, ” I will read to you but everytime I turn a page you have to push with your bottom.”  A mommy in training!

~  As my husband was putting our youngest (2) to bed the other night, I heard her tell him in her sweetest voice,  “Daddy, I love you but I don’t like you.”

 ~  We were driving home last night from my oldest daughter’s gymnastics class (5) and talking to the girls about what games we were going to play for our weekly game night.  Ashlyn shouted from the backseat “listen people, here is the plan.”  Such a little leader!

~  Here is some advice that I learned this week.  Never give your OCD child Days of the Week panties.  She will refuse to wear any other kind.

Friday Fragments?

 On Tuesday Emily and I were dropping Ashlyn off at school.  We walked her to her classroom gave her a hug and were walking away when Emily said, “Mommy, I’m really going to miss Ashlyn today.”  Ashlyn heard this and ran out of her class, gave Emily a big kiss on her cheek and said, “This kiss will stay with you all day while I’m gone.”  So sweet!

A couple of days ago I took Emily with me for a quick trip to WalMart.  We were walking past the produce section and Emily said, “Mommy something smells bad.”  Before I could comment she said, “It’s probably just my bottom!”  You gotta love 2 year old honesty.
